Accurate diagnosis first

Depression and Anxiety

Careful assessment of low mood and worry, including the ADHD that is often mistaken for both.

Undiagnosed ADHD often masks itself as depression and anxiety, which leads to years of the wrong treatment. Struggles with focus, restlessness and overwhelm can mimic mood and anxiety disorders. We start by getting the diagnosis right, then treat what is actually there.

What we treat

  • Major depressive disorder
  • Generalized anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Social anxiety
  • Seasonal low mood
  • ADHD presenting as anxiety or depression

Questions patients ask

How do I know if it is ADHD rather than anxiety?+

Lifelong difficulty with attention, organization and follow-through that predates the worry is a strong clue. We screen for both in the first visit rather than assuming one.

How quickly will medication help?+

Most antidepressants take two to six weeks for full effect. We schedule early follow-ups so you are not waiting alone.

Can I be seen the same day?+

Most weekdays have same-day openings. If you are in crisis, call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department.
